I’ve tried other at-home espresso machines before, including Nespresso and De’Longhi, but nothing quite compares to this stainless steel gem. With an included tamper, built-in grinder, included milk frother and fully automatic design, all you have to do is press a button and pick out which fun glass you want your barista-inspired drink to be housed in (I choose the Anthropologie icon glass nearly every time, but by all means, go for one that speaks to your soul).

I love hosting and pretending I’m Little Miss Starbucks when I wear my apron and ask family and friends, “decaf or espresso?” It has held up impeccably well for nearly a year of use, and it has saved me money on daily coffee runs; my usual 5-day-a-week order has dwindled down to a once-monthly treat — if that.

While the settings are a learning curve, it’s well worth your time. I’ve had to babysit my De’Longhi while my espresso shot is brewing because it’s not fully automatic (not the case for Breville!) and was limited in my coffee selection with my Nespresso, although its convenience is quite nifty. The Breville not only looks magazine-worthy when displayed in your kitchen, but it actually crafts really, really good drinks.

With the price of a standard Starbucks latte rising by 13% since 2021, we may want to rethink our coffee choices. Sure, we have to buy the beans (or ground coffee) and milk, but the cost per serving is considerably less than a $10 beverage. My Bulletproof cinnamon-vanilla blend that I scoop into my Breville is $18 and lasts me for weeks.

The math proves itself. If you buy a $10 latte every day for a year, that’s $3,650 — whoa! But if you grab the Breville while on sale (don’t forget to factor in milks, syrups and things like that), that coffee bill will go down to about $1,900. Best of all, you won’t need to repurchase the machine once you have it, so you’ll actually save even more the second year (a little over $3,000 when I ran the numbers).

As someone who gleefully tries a variety of coffee brands in my home kitchen, I can confidently say that Breville is the Cadillac of Coffee. Now, with a $300 discount, I’d say it’s the *prime* time to buy.
