Months into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, with no main suspect or person of interest named, authorities say they are now investigating the credibility of a new possible ransom note tied to the 84-year-old’s disappearance.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said its joint task force, along with the FBI, were “recently made aware of a new possible note,” and they were looking into it.

The comments were the latest by the sheriff’s department after it announced in August that human remains had been found in the Tucson desert, just 15 miles from where Nancy Guthrie was believed to have been abducted.
