McQueen starred as Jeremy Gilbert — the younger brother of main character Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) — in the CW hit, “The Vampire Diaries,” a supernatural teen drama that followed Elena as she fell into a dangerous love triangle with two vampires.

He appeared as a main cast member for the first six seasons of the show from 2009 to 2015, but returned as a guest star during the show’s final season in 2017.

The actor made his first major public appearance in years earlier this month when he attended the Forever Mystic Falls Fan Meet on Oct. 3 and 4.

Before the fan event, McQueen had largely separated himself from the spotlight and had not attended a major public event since Thirst Project’s 10th Annual Thirst Gala in 2019.

The 38-year-old did not step away from the screen entirely after the conclusion of “The Vampire Diaries,” however, as he most recently acted in a 2020 western action film, “The Warrant.”
