Well that was fun, wasn't it? After last week's joint practice with the 49ers didn't go the Tennessee Titans' way, Robert Saleh's team rebounded in an eventual Friday practice. Tennessee squared off against the Seattle Seahawks in Nashville, preparing to duel the same team on Sunday.

Today was a massive boost of morale for Tennessee, to say the least. It wasn't a perfect practice, but the Titans saw major improvement just about everywhere that it mattered. Alontae Taylor led the secondary to a marked recovery, even scoring a pick-six off Sam Darnold, and the Titans' ground game saw all three of Tony Pollard, Julius Chestnut, and Michael Carter punch in a touchdown.

It was Cam Ward, however, who really won the day. After going 5/12 and without a score in the Titans' preseason opener vs. San Francisco, Ward felt more pressure in the national limelight than any other Titan.

That's the nature of the quarterback position. In complete fairness, he should be mostly celebrated for what he managed today against the defending Super Bowl Champs. Have a day, #1.

Cam Ward Ignited an Ideal Day For the Titans

Ward came out swinging with an early touchdown to Elic Ayomanor, and we were off to the races from there. It's worth noting that he did give up an untimely pick-six to Ty Okada - something Ward credited as a "great defensive call" - but it's hard to find much fault in his showing beyond that.

Jim Wyatt had Ward at 22/28 passing on the day, finding tight end Daniel Bellinger for a late score in addition to the aforementioend Ayomanor. It's not an exaggeration to say that he was near-perfect facing off against Seattle.

In the words of Coach Saleh, Ward "has had a great camp," intermittent struggles included.

Practice runs don't always translate to live competition, but based on Ward's bounce-back, Titans fans can comfortably expect a more efficient showing this coming Sunday.

Titans Fans Can Expect an Improved Outing From Ward

With Saleh noting that everyone is set to play against Seattle, meaing potentially less run for the starters, we may not get a complete look at what Ward is capable of a little more settled in.

Him settling in at all is still a box-checking win. With only two games remaining in the preseason, there simply aren't many more opportunities that the Titans will get to grease their wheels before the regular season begins on on Sep. 13.

That's what makes these joint practices so important, particularly so for a team fresh off a massive rebuild. It's also what makes Ward's return to form today so exciting.
