Steak 'n Shake is now ridding its buns of seed oils.
"Starting today, all Steak 'n Shake buns are officially seed-oil free," the fast-food chain announced Monday in a post on X. "The buns are now unapologetically drenched in pure Grade AA Wisconsin butter."
The bun change is the latest in a series of moves by Steak 'n Shake, which has about 400 locations nationwide, to overhaul its ingredients and align itself with the MAHA movement.

In June, Steak 'n Shake made the switch to grass-fed beef and began frying chicken tenders, onion rings and tots in 100% beef tallow.
"In my opinion, real ingredients taste better than the synthetic additives," Michael Boes, the chain's chief MAHA officer, told Fox News.

The chain also has a page on its website dedicated to its transition away from seed oils and its efforts to provide more natural ingredients.
Aside from a "commitment to remove seed oils," the page touts offering cane sugar Coca-Cola and its switch to a2 milk last December.
