A New York City native who became an ISIS bride at just 18 faces up to a decade in federal prison after being found guilty Tuesday of training with the ruthless terror group.

Halima Salman, now 27, who had been accused of undergoing weapons training with the Islamic State in Syria, was convicted by a Brooklyn federal jury following three days of deliberations and a weeklong trial.

The case marked the first time that a woman faced trial in the US on charges of joining ISIS.

“With today’s verdict, Salman is held accountable for joining forces with a terrorist organization,” said Joseph Nocella Jr., US attorney for the Eastern District of New York.

“ISIS ravaged Syria and caused havoc across the globe; our Office will continue to prosecute those who supported its murderous reign,” he said in a statement.

The Brooklyn-born Salman testified in her own defense that her father had forced her to marry a militant fighter, Abu Ali, when she was 18 after he moved the family to ISIS-controlled territory in 2016.

Salman told jurors that her father, an ISIS supporter killed in a 2018 airstrike, had moved the family — including her mother and eight siblings — first to his home country of Turkey before tricking them into traveling into the terror group’s clutches in Syria.

She testified that she spent two years in ISIS territory and then five years in a war camp run by the Kurdish regime that dismantled the terror group with the help of the US.

Salman was arrested in 2024 at JFK Airport in Queens after she and nine other members of her family were repatriated in a US government effort to bring back American citizens held in the detention centers.

She has been living with relatives in New Hampshire while out on $500,000 bond, and faces a maximum 10-year sentence on her conviction of knowingly receiving military training from a terrorist organization.

Prosecutors argued that Salman willingly agreed during her marriage to train with Nusaybah Katiba, a female-only ISIS battalion.

Jurors saw footage of the young woman wielding an AK-47 assault rifle in her husband’s Syria home, a digital image of a document purportedly from ISIS saying she was qualified to carry a Kalashnikov rifle, and selfies that Salman took with the terror group’s flag in the background.

Salman’s lawyers questioned the authenticity of the alleged ISIS training certificate — recovered from her husband Ali’s phone — and ripped the feds for not showing the jury further evidence related to her purported ISIS training, including testimony from someone who saw her train.

“You can come back here in five minutes with a not-guilty verdict… this is a grave miscarriage of justice,” defense lawyer Mia Eisner-Grynberg told the jury in her closing statement Thursday.

The attorney attempted to cast the alleged terror trainee as a former Brooklyn Girl Scout with a passion for sewing and craft making who has already “been through hell and back.”

Her ISIS militant ex-husband is believed to be in an Iraqi jail, according to a law enforcement source.
