The Miami Hurricanes added quite a bit of talent through the NCAA transfer portal this offseason.
However, one of those additions won’t even play a down for them after the team dismissed four-star wide receiver Cam Vaughn from the program on Monday, according to head coach Mario Cristobal during a radio interview with “The Joe Rose Show” on WQAM.
No reason was given why for Vaughn’s dismissal.
“Vaughn is one of three players who have left the team since the end of spring practice,” Adam Lichtenstein of the South Florida Sun Sentinel wrote. “Defensive lineman Hayden Lowe and cornerback Jontavius Wyman left the team before fall camp started. Transfer safety Conrad Hussey also left the team in the offseason.”

Vaughn, who logged 35 catches, 541 yards, and four touchdowns last season at West Virginia and totaled 83 receptions, 1,344 yards, and nine scores in two college seasons, was believed to be a key part of Miami’s offense in 2026.
The Hurricanes are having to replace Atlanta Falcons rookie Keelan Marion (57 receptions, 746 yards, two TDs), Los Angeles Rams rookie C.J. Daniels (50 receptions, 557 yards, seven TDs), and now NC State receiver Joshisa Trader (13 receptions, 178 yards, one TD).
Fortunately for Miami, the team returns phenom Malachi Toney (109 receptions, 1,211 yards, and 10 touchdowns as a freshman last year), and it added four-star WRs Cooper Barkate (72 catches, 1,106 yards, seven TDs) and Vandrevius Jacobs (32 catches, 548 yards, four TDs).
