Kim Zolciak’s 15-year-old son, Kroy “KJ” Jr., has been arrested, Us can confirm.
KJ was arrested in Alpharetta, Georgia, on Monday, August 17, for aggravated sodomy and aggravated sexual assault, per court records obtained by Us. A judge did not set bond, and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for September 8. KJ is currently being held at the Metro Regional Youth Detention Center.
“The allegations being made against my son are nothing short of reckless and deeply troubling,” Zolciak, 48, said in part of a lengthy statement to Us on Friday, August 21. “He categorically denies ever being involved with this woman or engaging in the conduct she has alleged. My son voluntarily took a polygraph examination regarding these allegations and passed. Additionally, an examination was conducted, and no DNA belonging to my son was found.”
KJ is one of the sons Zolciak shares with estranged husband Kroy Biermann. The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum and Biermann, 40, got married in 2011, the same year KJ was born. The duo later welcomed son Kash and twins Kaia and Kane in 2012 and 2013, respectively. (Biermann also adopted Zolciak’s two eldest daughters, Ariana and Brielle, from a previous relationship.)
After more than a decade of marriage, news broke in 2023 that Zolciak and Biermann filed for divorce. The proceedings are ongoing.
Amid their messy divorce battle, Biermann requested sole custody of the exes’ minor children, accusing Zolciak of neglect. He further claimed she was “unfit and unstable” to parent their kids.
“These accusations are completely false and nothing more than a deliberate attempt by Kroy to defame my character,” Zolciak told Us in a statement in March, denying the accusations. “I spent five weeks away working on two TV shows to support my family and make sure my children are cared for — something I will never apologize for.”

Weeks later, Zolciak hit back at claims she lost custody of KJ and his siblings, alleging that she and Biermann hadn’t even modified their custody arrangements.
“I signed a temporary custody order at the end of January. The order clearly states that both the mother and father are to participate in two counseling sessions per month for two months, followed by one session per month thereafter,” Zolciak wrote via her Instagram Stories in April. “I was out of the country from February 26 through March 28 due to contractual filming obligations on two separate productions.”
She continued at the time, “During that time, I did not have a single day off, making it impossible to attend the required counseling sessions. Kroy as of today (I had KJ and Kash up until 5pm today) currently has the children for spring break, which is his designated parenting time under the existing agreement. I am scheduled to resume my parenting time when the children return on Friday. My counseling sessions are scheduled and will be completed next week.”
Zolciak temporarily lost custody in May, with a judge ruling that Biermann would have primary physical custody of their youngest children.
Biermann did not immediately address KJ’s arrest.
