Traditional pizza lovers avert your eyes — a famed frozen pizza company is sending out a horrifying invention to daring pie lovers.
Tombstone Pizza announced this week that they’re peddling their normal frozen pizzas, but topped with…candy corn.
“Conjured in the spookiest corners of the internet, this Halloween season TOMBSTONE® proudly presents The Pizza Nobody Asked For™. And frankly, we regret absolutely nothing,” the company proudly wrote in a press release.
“Introducing the limited-edition TOMBSTONE® Candy Corn Pizza, an unexpected flavor mashup from The Official Pizza of Halloween®. Candy corn. On pizza. Hear us out… it’s weirdly good,” they added.
The apparent PR stunt costs just $1.31, shipping included, for a Tombstone cheese or pepperoni pizza with a side of candy corn. Anyone who wants the limited-edition pizza can snag one during three online drops on Oct. 2, 9, and 23.
Tombstone Pizza posted cringe-inducing photos of the creation on social media.
“Trick? Treat? Terrible? Let us know in the comments,” they wrote.
Frozen pizza lovers had mixed views of the creation on Facebook.
“Insane, but I appreciate this,” one wrote.
“Oh that is blasphemy,” another noted.
“This is gonna be gross,” a third exclaimed.
Candy corn and pizza are loved, one commenter said, but deserve to be enjoyed separately.
“I love candy corn and pizza. But why did you just ruin that pizza?”
Tombstone Pizza is owned by Nestle and was founded in 1962.
And if you’re hungry for even more pizza-candy collaborations head to New York City to try Heidi Klum’s Halloween Butterfinger Pizza.
The candy brand is partnering with the supermodel known for her famously over-the-top devotion to Halloween costumes, at Crazy Pizza, a New York restaurant where she is a partner.
The limited-time dessert will be available at the SoHo location all month and the brand will hand out samples at the Village Halloween Parade on Oct. 31.
